                                                                                                 Prayer to St. Jude

Photo of actual 5' (originally all white) statue previously located at St. Jude School, and was subsequently relocated to the front of St.  Jude Church in Sinajana, Guam in 1971.

Saint Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and things           despaired of.  Pray for me, I implore you and come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities (make your request here), and that I may bless God with you and  all the elect throughout eternity.  Blessed Jude, I will be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will do all in my power to encourage devotion to you.  This I ask through your intercession with the Father, who lives and reigns with the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever, and ever. Amen.

Welcome to St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic School Alumni Society website.  We are a private, non-profit organization of Guam, U.S. TerritoryOur members are comprised of students, who once attended the school from the seventh through the tenth grade. St. Jude Junior High School, built in 1955 under the guidance of Sinajana Capuchin pastor Fr. Raymond Demers, O.F.M. had the distinction of being the only school on island built entirely through “happy labor.” More than five hundred men from the village volunteered for the construction. The women provided daily nourishment, while  the children cleared the tangantangan jungle, removed rocks, trash and other debris at the site. The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, from Lacrosse, Wisconsin, administered the school at the request of Bishop Apollinaris William Baumgartner. The school opened in 1955 and was later merged with the Agana Catholic Diocesan Schools in 1971 and renamed Bishop Apollinaris W. Baumgartner Memorial School.

St. Jude Thaddeus School Remembered!!!
The Agana Catholic Diocesan School Administration, and the faculty of Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School (BBMCS) hosted  a grand dedication for the renaming of Bldg. A to St. Jude Thaddeus , and the Cafeteria to FSPA (Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration).  BBMCS dedicated their newly built computer wing (at the former FSPA Convent site), and named it after the founder of the Sisters of Mercy Order, Catherine McCauley.  Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron officiated at this momentous Eucharistic celebration on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 9:30 AM.  The dedication of the new wing and the renaming of the different wings on the campus  followed.

God Bless Father Joe English!
By Tony Diaz of The Pacific Voice

Father Joe English, OFM Cap. was just 10 years old when he first began active, daily service in the Catholic Church.   Forty years later, his focus is still the same: Serve Christ, serve the people of God.
As Pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Agana Heights and the elected Vice Provincial of the Capuchin Franciscan friars on Guam and Hawaii, Father Joe is a busy person. But then, that’s the path his sandals has been walking since he was a boy.

Now 50 years old, Father Joe’s love and service to the Lord began to take root during his boyhood days in Sinajana when, as an altar boy, he would be at St. Jude Church every day helping in a wide variety of ways. (Please click on Fr. Joe's photo above, or on the following link to read more...).
