                                                                                Prayer to St. Jude

Photo of actual 5' (originally all white) statue previously located at St. Jude School, and was subsequently relocated to the front of St.  Jude Church in Sinajana, Guam in 1971.

Saint Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and things           despaired of.  Pray for me, I implore you and come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities (make your request here), and that I may bless God with you and  all the elect throughout eternity.  Blessed Jude, I will be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will do all in my power to encourage devotion to you.  This I ask through your intercession with the Father, who lives and reigns with the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever, and ever. Amen.

Welcome to St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic School Alumni Society website.  We are a private, non-profit organization of Guam, U.S. TerritoryOur members are comprised of students, who once attended the school from the seventh through the tenth grade. St. Jude Junior High School, built in 1955 under the guidance of Sinajana Capuchin pastor Fr. Raymond Demers, O.F.M. had the distinction of being the only school on island built entirely through “happy labor.” More than five hundred men from the village volunteered for the construction. The women provided daily nourishment, while  the children cleared the tangantangan jungle, removed rocks, trash and other debris at the site. The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, from Lacrosse, Wisconsin, administered the school at the request of Bishop Apollinaris William Baumgartner. The school opened in 1955 and was later merged with the Agana Catholic Diocesan Schools in 1971 and renamed Bishop Apollinaris W. Baumgartner Memorial School.

 Fifth SJT Alumni Reunion
July 15, 2012
St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church
Sinajana, Guam

St. Jude Thaddeus (SJT) Catholic School alumni gathered for the FIFTH SJT Alumni Reunion Mass at the parish church in Sinajana, Guam.  Several off-island alumni traveled here for this memorable occassion.  Almost a hundred alumni gathered at the Eucharistic Celebration and, later, for brunch at the Top O the Mar for the purpose of keeping the spirit alive of a school that once was!   We gathered once again, embracing a legacy instilled in each of us, through the spiritual nurturing and superb education administered by beloved Franciscan clergy - the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the Franciscan priests (Order of Friar Minor Capuchins).

 St. Jude Thaddeus School Remembered!!!

The Agana Catholic Diocesan School Administration, and the faculty of Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School (BBMCS) hosted  a grand dedication for the renaming of Bldg. A to St. Jude Thaddeus Courtyard , and the Cafeteria to  Franciscan Hall (Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration).  BBMCS dedicated their newly built computer wing (at the former FSPA Convent site), and named it after the founder of the Sisters of Mercy Order, Catherine McCauley.  Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron officiated at this momentous Eucharistic celebration on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 9:30 AM.  The dedication of the new wing and the renaming of the different wings on the campus  followed.
Class of 1962, Terrie Mendiola provided the following photos for the website.  She attended the dedication Mass along with  classmates, Josephine Espinosa-Santos, Dolores Gogue-
Sablan, Gloria Perez-Artero,  and '56 alumnae, Dolores Anderson-Muna, Loling Delgado-Blas and Aurora Flores-Roberto.
We are grateful to the Agana Catholic Diocesan School Administration, and the administration of BBMCS for this long-overdue recognition of our beloved school and teachers.

Our SJT Cafeteria is now the "Franciscan Hall" in honor of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, our SJT High School Founders and Faculty

This is the original building where "St. Jude Thaddeus School" sign was once displayed (from 1955-1971).  BBMCS  has renamed it "St. Jude Thaddeus Court"

 2010 SJT Alumni Reunion
Father Gus of St. Jude Thaddeus parish, in Sinajana, and also an alumnus of SJT,   celebrated the  Third SJT Alumni Reunion at the Eucharistic Celebration on Sunday, July 18th at 8:30 AM.
This is the third reunion organized to perpetuate the camraderie of all former students, teachers and friends of our beloved St. Jude School.   Alumni from eighth grade graduating classes from 1956 to 1971 attended a profoundly memorable Mass with several surprise attendance by alumni visiting from Colorado, California and Nevada!

 2010 SJT Reunion Video/Slideshow!

Welcome to the updated slideshow/video of the 2010 SJT Alumni reunion. Many thanks to Ange Alvarez-Forbes, from the class of '62, for this collection of a little over a hundred!  Indeed, she is our SJT alumni photographer extraordinaire! There are severty-nine slides to view, including photos that I obtained from the archives of The Pacific Voice during my most recent trip to Guam this year!

Relax, sit back and listen to the angelic voice of our SJT alumna, Flora Baza, Class of '65, with the song, "Magof Yu," while you view the photos of classmates, friends and families who attended.   And toward the end, you'll be mesmerized by Guy Lombardo's "Auld Lang Syne!"  You might become very "mahalang." for the good-ole-days!   Have tissues handy :-))  Just click on the photo collage below.
